Charlie became a therapist to help people build lives they are passionate about living. He offers a personable and well studied approach to psychotherapy as he holds a Masters in Social Work (MSW) from the University of Toronto and a Masters in Music Therapy from Laurier University where he was awarded the gold medal (master’s level) for academic excellence. He also holds two bachelor’s degrees in music and psychology (honours) from the University of Toronto and Dalhousie University, respectively. His results-driven approach to therapy is based on the understanding that people are spiritual but also habitual creatures. Much of the difficulty we find ourselves in stems from patterns of thinking and/or behaviour that do not yield desirable results. Employing mindfulness and cognitive restructuring techniques, Charlie works compassionately with clients to identify and change the unhelpful patterns that are holding them back from living fully and deliberately.
Over years of professional practice and study, Charlie has developed a program for change that has been shown to work. His journey as a helping professional began on the Downtown Eastside of Vancouver, B.C. as a support worker and music therapy intern working with one of Canada’s most vulnerable populations. He moved back to Ontario in 2019 and began practicing as a psychotherapist (qualifying). An avid musician, Charlie can be found performing in local venues and music festivals in the Ottawa Valley as a rock drummer with his band The Cover Ups. He can also be found hiking in Algonquin National Park or flying down the Laurentian mountains on downhill skis. Charlie works with Individuals including adults.
Charlie’s rate is $170 for a 50-minute individual session.
