Ivory is a Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying) and a Certified Music Therapist. She holds a master’s degree in music therapy with a psychotherapy focus from Temple University (USA). Ivory takes a holistic approach to therapy and is trained in evidence-based modalities, including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavioural Therapy (DBT). She is also currently pursuing training in Trauma-Focused CBT.
With several years of specialized experience working with neurodivergent (e.g., Autistic, ADHD, Intellectual Disabilities, etc.) clients from the age of 3, Ivory emphasizes fostering emotional regulation, self-expression, and social confidence through a neurodiversity-affirming and strengths-based approach. Her background includes working as a Crisis and Suicide text hotline responder and supporting BIPOC youth in foster care, dropout programs, and behavioral hospital settings.
As an immigrant herself, Ivory deeply understands how culture shapes identity, relationships, and mental health. She is passionate about supporting immigrants and individuals from diverse backgrounds, helping them navigate challenges such as cultural adaptation, intergenerational dynamics, systemic barriers, and identity exploration.
Ivory is passionate about creating a safe space where individuals feel heard, using talk therapy, creative expression, or a blend of both. She strives to build strong therapeutic relationships that empower clients to develop resilience, emotional regulation, self-esteem, and stress management skills.
Ivory is fluent in English and Mandarin.
Ivory’s rate is $160 for a 50 minute individual session.
