RPQ - Intern Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying)

Currently accepting new clients!

Karla (She/Her) is a Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying) with the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario (CRPO). She holds a Master of Arts in Counselling and Psychology from Saint Mary's University of Minnesota, and has five years of experience providing psychotherapy services.

She brings a warm, compassionate, and judgment-free style to the therapeutic space. Karla works with teens (14+) and adults navigating many different challenges: overwhelming emotions, grief, big life transitions, difficult relationship patterns, identity exploration, or simply feeling stuck and not knowing why. If your teenager is struggling with school, friendships, or things they are not ready to talk about with their parents yet, this is a safe place for them too.

Karla takes an integrative approach to therapy, drawing from Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Mindfulness, Somatic Therapy, and Narrative Therapy. She believes that therapy is not a one-size-fits-all experience, and she is passionate about working alongside each client to build a therapeutic relationship that genuinely supports them and their goals. She is drawn to work that is both compassionate and honest because balancing warmth with honesty, and care with accountability, is what she believes helps people move forward in their relationship with themselves, the people around them, and their communities.

Karla practices from a holistic, person-centred framework. She is committed to an anti-oppression, anti-racism, and LGBTQ+ affirming approach, not just because it's the right thing to do, but because it is core to who she is. She has extensive experience working from a culturally sensitive lens, and has worked with people across Canada, the USA, and Nepal.

Karla works with teens and adults. She is fluent in English and Spanish.

Karla’s rate for an individual 50-minute session is $165. Offers services at our Toronto location and virtually.
