Art Therapy

Art therapy combines psychotherapy and the creative processes of art! Art therapy can aid in self-expression, exploration, and understanding. By using imagery and symbolism through shapes and colours, the therapist can access deeper thoughts and feelings that may otherwise be difficult for the client to articulate.

Art therapy has been shown to boost cognition, concentration, motor functions, self-esteem, self-awareness, emotional resilience, communication skills, and self-regulation. It also helps reduce feelings of anxiety and depression.

Art therapy is appropriate for all ages, from children to adults to seniors. It can be most beneficial for those who may have language limitations or difficulty expressing themselves while working through difficult experiences and feelings.

Art therapy can be used for a variety of reasons, including:

- Trauma Recovery

- Behavioural Challenges

- Depression

- ADHD/ADD

- Autism Spectrum Disorder

- Learning Disabilities

- Developmental Disabilities

- Anger Management

- Grief and Loss

- Anxiety and Stress

- Bullying or Social Isolation

- Experiences of Trauma or Abuse
